Till Death, the stand-alone prequel to the upcoming, urban fantasy series, The Independent Necromancers’ Bureau.

In a world where rogue necromancers control the dead and turn them against the living, The Independent Necromancers’ Bureau works to keep law and order.

When some uninvited guests show up at a wedding party, Cassie Dune— an agent with the INB— must fight to stop them. With the aid of Detective Inspector Luke Baron, Cassie must stop a rampaging horde of zombies before it’s too late— an act that causes her to learn more about her power and its origins.

Till Death Independent Necromancers' Bureau Short Book 1 eBook Victoria DeLuis

What if you could be on a paranormal or necromancer cop team? You know, talk to ghosts, raising the dead but more likely putting the dead back where they belong! This is a couple of situations of one of the necromancer. I loved this short story!

Till Death Independent Necromancers' Bureau Short Book 1 eBook Victoria DeLuis Reviews

Got a problem distinguishing the living from the dead? Generic problems with life and death? Do you need a more sensitive approach than the ever-popular “Let's just kill all the Zombies” (excuse me, The Reanimated) method?

Call in the INB, The Independent Necromancers' Bureau, a unit of the police force, a squad sufficiently enlightened and adequately empowered to fight the dark side of postmortem life or aid the crossover, working with the light.

In “Till Death,” Victoria Deluis grounds the story's (possibly impossible) needed protective magic in the familiar world of sensory details, pulling off the literary magic of the reader's suspension of disbelief—something necessary for all good fiction but even more so in a story like this.

So much so that you'll want to read the next episode of the INB. (And no, this elite squad is not closed to applications, but your resume must be in top shape.)
I was given a copy of this short story by the author in return for an honest review.
If this well written introduction to a planned series is any indication, the series is undoubtedly going to be quite brilliant.
The world the author has created with its magic, necromancers and the reanimated (zombies to you and I) is an interesting place to visit.
The characters of Cassie and Luke are warm and likeable and their humour is dry and amusing.
There's an intriguing twist in the tale and I'm definitely looking forward to discovering just where that may lead. I'm pleased I have discovered yet another author worth following.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.

This was a quick, fun read that whetted my appetite for more.

The main character Cassie seems like my type of girl - quick witted, dry sense of humor and with just a hint of an interesting past to keep me curious.

Where's the rest of the series???

The author's reference to a well-respected Epic Fantasy franchise as well as the Beetlejuice reference made me laugh out loud. Such references to pop culture help take what can be a dark story (as in, the word Necromancer is in the book's title so we all understand what the book goes to dark, scary places) and ensure the reader has some lighthearted fun along the way.

Oh, and as for the excerpt, I loved Cassie's co-characters. Yes, both of them. Please give us more.
Very well done a different take on necromancer stories can't wait for the next book to come out. Hope to read it soon
I enjoyed it immensely and wished it was longer. I liked the heroine and found the story very interesting. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Victoria DeLuis' short stories about the Independent Necromancers' Bureau are great fun to read. This one sets up some potentially disturbing paths for our heroine to travel. Looking forward to the full novel!
Till Death introduces the reader to the Independent Necromancers Bureau (INB) by dropping the reader right into the action. The author does a good job of revealing this world to the reader. The story is engaging and the characters unique. An intriguing prequel that makes me curious about what this author will deliver next.
